about

A beautiful song I first heard on the album Over The Moor To Maggie by Oisin. Later I heard the Planxty version. This combines a bit of the two.

A bit of a funny story. When I lived in Vancouver with my friends Brendan and Lisa, Brendan had a cassette of Over The Moor To Maggie. I listened to it every day. I found another one of their records, Bealoideas at zulu records on west 4th. Bealoideas means folklore in the Irish language.

due to events and circumstances I had to leave Vancouver and left that lp behind. 20 years later (and the internet is king). through facebook I reconnect with another friend named Pete. Then it occurs to me that he might have that lp in his stacks. I write him about it and he mails it to me within a week.

Dusty Keleher Halifax, Nova Scotia

Dusty Keleher writes songs that tell a good story and searches out gems from the past that do the same.

Simply put, roots/traditional music that takes its cue from ancient Irish ballads and songs from the folk/rock canon. Original modern day tales on subjects far and near. From whatever genre and tradition he draws on, Dusty brings a heartfelt soul to all the songs he sings.
